HASER is a group of people with a shared interest in supporting local grassroots actions in Puerto Rico that stimulate equity and quality of life for all living beings.
We provide fiscal sponsorship to charitable projects led by organizations, individuals and groups developing social, cultural, environmental, artistic and educational actions promoting equity and quality of life in their communities. HASER manages these projects in a partnership, focusing on fiscal and legal compliance, accounting, budgeting, grantwriting, fundraising and communications. We also provide guidance to groups and entities looking to become tax-exempt, non profit organizations.
Puerto Rico is going through catastrophic natural events and a socioeconomic crisis that have increased social inequality. More communities on the island are organizing grassroots actions and becoming agents of change attending to their own needs. These actions are carried out with few resources, creating more barriers in communities that already suffer the effects of the crisis and historical inequalities. Our strategy to support grassroots actions and community-based organizations is to develop a network of collective actions, sharing resources and responsibilities to potentiate change.
Established in 2016, HASER is a non-profit organization with tax exemption under sections 501(c)(3) and 509(a)(2) of the United States Internal Revenue Code.
