As part of our goal to foster a more equitable nonprofit ecosystem, HASER has joined as a collaborating entity in the Rural Partners Network of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development program.
This collaboration aims to train and support community-based and nonprofit organizations by providing them with the tools and assistance needed to effectively access and manage federal funds.
We are excited to collaborate with seven other entities to promote more equitable access to grants. At HASER, our focus will be on supporting strategies that remove barriers and foster shared resource systems. Additionally, we will educate about the potential of fiscal sponsorship to ensure that funds reach communities directly.
We aspire to co-create a nonprofit ecosystem where historically marginalized populations, who are leading systemic changes, can more fairly access opportunities and tools to continue working for social well-being, equity, and quality of life across the Puerto Rican archipelago.
The Rural Partners Network operates in 15 municipalities across Puerto Rico: Mayagüez, Maricao, Guánica, Utuado, Jayuya, Ciales, Orocovis, Villalba, Ponce, Adjuntas, Barranquitas, Coamo, Fajardo, Ceiba, and Naguabo. HASER is active in four of these towns.
HASER is a Puerto Rican non-profit organization committed to the well-being of our archipelago’s communities and ecosystems. We have created Network of Actions of 16 allied community-based organizations and initiatives in 12 municipalities from Vieques to Mayagüez.
