We celebrate the inauguration of Edi Rizoma!
A new hub for resilience and justice in Puerto Rico

Dear Alliances, partner organizations, and collaborators of HASER, María Fund, Institute for Research and Action in Agroecology (IALA-PR), and Amigxs del M.A.R.,
It is an honor and a great joy to address you to officially announce the inauguration of Edi Rizoma, our new community resilience hub in San Juan.
The name Edi Rizoma represents interconnected networks, stability, rootedness, collective growth, and resistance to hierarchical structures. This space will be a hub for community resilience, collaboration, and the strengthening of social justice movements in Puerto Rico.
A 30,000-square-foot building that is not measured in walls, but in purpose. It is a collective heart where struggles, dreams, and hope converge; a living space for encounter, collaboration, and strengthening social and environmental justice movements of our archipelago. It represents a tangible testimony of what happens when we decide to build a Puerto Rio we imagine together.

A space for our communities
In this first phase, Edi Rizoma will be available to networks, partner organizations, and the ecosystem of HASER, María Fund, IALA-PR, and Amigxs del M.A.R. We want it to be an operational extension of the incredible work they already do. We have created a relationship with the adjacent community of Calle Utuado, which will also be using the space.
The space offers a variety of resources subject to availability and prior notice (some still in the design process), including:
- Offices and meeting rooms
- Shared work areas
- Green and covered areas
- An oasis for the community and neighbors
- A center for community management and emergency coordination
How to use the space?
These facilities include:
- 10 individual desks in an open space
- A shared work table for 8 people
- A private meeting room for 6-8 people
To make a reservation, please complete this form —we will respond as soon as possible.
Parking is limited. We ask that you avoid parking on Utuado Street. This is a community with limited parking, and we want to be good neighbors. The Domenech urban train station is only a 4-minute walk away, which is an excellent option for getting to the building. Everyone is welcome to visit us, work here, or suggest ways to collaborate.
For questions about reservations and other building matters, please write to recurso@edirizoma.org.
This space is a celebration of our collective capacity to rebuild with justice, creativity, and solidarity. We are confident that Edi Rizoma will be a starting point for a stronger, more connected, and more just Puerto Rico. A space that will amplify our impact and that of all the hands that build through action, purpose, and hope.
With gratitude and enthusiasm,
HASER, María Fund, IALA-PR, Amigxs del M.A.R
