Pólvora Colectiva Cuir is a collective created by gender nonconforming people that seeks to impact the queer community, that recognizes the intersectionality within different identities, and that understands the struggles that this implies. Pólvora Colectiva is committed to empowering and improving the quality of life of trans and non-binary communities in Puerto Rico.
HASER and Pólvora Colectiva have partnered to work for social justice and for human and civil rights to protect us all in an equitable way.
HASER provides 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsorship to Pólvora Colectiva projects for community development and social transformation.
HASER is a non-profit organization with tax exemption under sections 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code and Section 1101.01(a)(2)(B) of the “Internal Revenue Code for a New Puerto Rico”. Pólvora Colectiva believes in self-management, self-sustainability, and trans-feminism as methods of creating relationships and fighting goals. United from precariousness to face the patriarchal, heteronormative, racist State and any oppressive structure that tries to keep our identities silent; because it is through invisibility that attacks against our lives are made.
Betting on political formation among peers with the intention of building alignments and collective positions that generate common objectives and whose goal is to carry out concerted actions towards the eradication of the heterocisnormative State and the colonial status, Pólvora Colectiva seeks to create, organize and transform spaces to be safe for LGBTQIA+/queer people, from which their creativity, activism and political work are formed and developed.
From principles of solidarity, horizontality, mutual support and empathy, they intend to build a queer network where ties are created between collectives and organizations that work from various trenches to promote, organize and manage the fight against the different oppressions of queer people.
