Projects in Alliance with Aldea Urbana
Aldea Urbana contributes to the preservation, rescue and planning of disused spaces in Ponce, Puerto Rico, from an agroecological, artistic and educational perspective for the self-sustainability of the communities. Through popular education, Aldea Urbana serves as a link for the struggle and defense of political, economic and social rights, planning towards food sovereignty, decolonization, social infrastructure, and the development of a fair and sustainable economy.
HASER and Aldea Urbana have joined forces to promote the social well-being of communities in Puerto Rico through community-based projects that advance equity and quality of life.

Aldea Urbana is an initiative focused on social and environmental justice. They work to develop a sustainable and inclusive model of urban agroecology that serves as a link between community-based initiatives in Ponce. They seek to contribute to the recovery of the territory by creating gardens, forests, and urban parks in underutilized spaces for the benefit and sustainability of the communities.
By integrating popular education, political formation, art, and culture into collective processes and the sharing of knowledge, Aldea Urbana fosters critical thinking and collective identity by organizing around the earth as a common space and practicing agroecology aimed at social justice, food sovereignty, personal and collective healing, and the creation of decentralized, decolonizing popular power.

🌱 Callejón Trujillo Urban Garden
A hub in the historic center of Ponce. A living classroom of urban agroecology where food is grown, biodiversity is restored, seeds are propagated, abandoned spaces are reclaimed, and it demonstrates an alternative vision of inhabiting and regenerating our city..
🍲 Community Kitchen
A space for organization and solidarity-based response where food becomes a tool for dignity, connection, and resilience before, during, and after emergencies.
📚 Siembra de Saberes
A popular education program where knowledge about agroecology and community organization is shared.
