Caderamen (founded in 2010) is a space for self-care and support for reproductive processes in Puerto Rico. The services of Caderamen are aimed at covering the health needs of women of reproductive age and the families that accompany them with guidance and accompaniment during processes such as pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, lactation, loss and interruption of pregnancies. They also offer training and technical support to institutions and professionals in allied health areas through workshops and continuing education seminars.
Since 2013, the Caderamen team has led the SePARE prevention project for women heads of family and their families during the prenatal and postpartum stage. This innovative program began through the financing of the Administration for the Socioeconomic Development of the Family. Its purpose is to reduce health inequalities that affect the maternal and child population during pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum, through preventive services with a focus on home visits, health promotion, humanized care and development of healthy environments.
The SePARE program has provided services during its first four years to over 800 families, facilitating their empowerment and promoting autonomy during pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum and upbringing. The services of the SePARE program are directed to the families of the municipalities of the regions of Arecibo, Bayamón and San Juan, as well as some municipalities surrounding these regions.
